The Permitting Department is responsible for the examination of building plans and specifications to insure structural soundness and conformity with the adopted building codes and the issuance of building permits. On site inspections are made at several different times during the building process to insure that construction and installation are in compliance with all adopted codes.

GAS SERVICES
Residents applying for gas services through Centerpoint Energy in the unincorporated areas of Vermilion Parish: Our Buidling Official Primeaux, Touchet & Associates does not inspect this type of service installation.Contactors or homeowners must hire a licensed plumber to install gas services. The plumber tests the gas line and creates an inspection certificate with his/her signature attesting that the line has passed inspection. In order to set up services this inspection certificate must be emailed to:servicepermit@centerpointenergy.com

Repair/Reconstruction As cleanup efforts begin, residents, businesses, and property owners are reminded to purchase the proper permits for flood damage repair and reconstruction. In most cases a minimal residential repair permit is all that is required and can be obtained at the Vermilion Parish Courthouse, 2nd Floor in the Vermilion Parish Police Jury Permit Office. Substantially damaged homes will be subject to additional requirements and permitting.
